Dandelions Bereavement Support

Counselling

With the way in which grief affects people being unique to each individual, it should come as no surprise that what support each bereaved person needs also varies greatly. For some, the groups are the best way forward, for others, one-to-one counselling sessions seem the more natural choice. There’s no right or wrong method of support, they’re just very different.

Why choose counselling?

There are many reasons people might choose to come for counselling, perhaps the circumstances surrounding the death, or the relationship lost are complicated, perhaps your relationships that remain are complicated or maybe the group settings just don’t feel right for you. Whatever your reason for choosing it, our 1:1 counselling provides you with a safe place and time to explore your loss, fully at your own pace, focusing on what feels most relevant and important to you. As a fully qualified counsellor, I'm here to listen and support you.

My qualifications and experience

I have worked with bereavement since 2012, originally as a Funeral Arranger at a local funeral directors. I now hold the role of  Bereavement Support Coordinator at the same company and spend much of my time organising and facilitating our Bereavement Support Groups and programmes.

I've been involved with our Bereavement Support Services since 2015 so have many years’ experience listening and supporting families with their grief.

In December 2020 I qualified with a level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society.

I've provided bereavement support within various settings, including professional companies, charities and in a local prison, so I'm lucky that my experience so far has been quite broad.
